Century City – Constellation Station Monthly Look-Ahead: February 2025 

This monthly notification is an outline of construction activities in Century City for the month of February 2025.  
All work has received necessary permits and approvals or is pending approval. Dates are subject to change. Additional notices detailing these activities are sent by email through the Purple Line Extension, Section 2 database. Station Construction and Concrete Placement 

  • Placement of structural concrete for the Constellation Station is substantially complete and construction of the interior and above roof structures will be ongoing underground beneath Constellation Bl. This work takes place 24 hours a day Monday through Saturday.  

  • Partial traffic lane closures are currently in place on Constellation Bl to support the daytime station construction and material delivery for station construction. Eastbound and westbound vehicle access on Constellation Bl is being maintained between Century Park West and Century Park East. 

  • All driveways are accessible. The Fairmont Century Plaza event driveway is accessible from eastbound Constellation Bl at Century Park West. The Century Park valet located on the south side of Constellation Bl east of Avenue of the Stars will also be maintained. 

  • The contractor will implement nighttime intermittent lane closures to facilitate concrete placement for the station. These nighttime lane closures began in late August and will require daily intermittent nighttime closures from 8PM to 5:30 AM.  

Station Backfill 

  • The contractor is continuing the backfill of the station above the final concrete structure.  

  • The backfill operation will require daily intermittent nighttime closures coordinated with the concrete placement.  

Side Structure/Appendage Work 

  • Work has begun to construct appendages or side structures along the future station. 

  • Crews will continue excavation at the side structures on the north side of Constellation Blvd., east of Avenue of the stars.   

  • Construction occurs within current traffic closures around the station area to accommodate this work. Additional traffic control will be required at a later date. 

Utility Work on Century Park East 

  • The contractor is continuing to progress with the removal of the temporary utilities for the station and will continue to implement a daytime, non-peak closure on Century Park East south of Constellation starting in January.  

  • Intermittemently Century Park East will be reduced to one lane northbound from Olympic Blvd to Constellation Blvd.  

Work within Construction Staging Yards (day work and weekend nights)  

  • Ongoing construction continues within the sound walls at the staging yards located at 1940, 1950, 2010 and 2040 Century Park East.  

Noteworthy:  

  • The JMB Project construction located on the NE corner of Constellation and Avenue of the Stars is immediately adjacent to the Metro D Line Subway construction. For information regarding JMB construction, please contact Bonnie Christopher at 310-843-4022 (direct) or 310-551-007 (office).

Construction is a dynamic process and information is subject to change without notice, visit the project website for the most up to date information.

Local access, Pedestrian Access, and Emergency Responder Access is maintained during work activities.
